"American" Fries

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today is my favorite day of the year!  It's better than Christmas and my Birthday rolled into one!  Today is America's birthday and my husband's birthday also.  I've always been very patriotic and today I am here to inspire you with my American "Fries" earrings.  You will totally understand in a minute.

My grandkids have recently come to live with us and therefore we have all sorts of toys laying around the house.  The crafter in me is always looking at their toys wondering what I could mold or create with/for Amazing Casting Products.  Today is no exception ...

Recently we were playing kitchen and I saw these amazing French Fries in their mixture of play food.  

Oh how the wheels started to spin!

Here is my mold that I made with those cute play fries.  I poured them with some Amazing Casting Resin after making a mold with the Amazing Mold Putty and let them cure for about 5 minutes.

Using regular acrylic paints, I painted some red stripes and a small section in blue on top of the white Amazing Casting Resin.  E6000 and some rhinestones for some bling and drilling a hole to attach some jump rings and earring wires I now I have the perfect earrings for the 4th of July!

I totally thought how the shape of those French fries reminded me 

of a waving flag and I brought that vision to life!

Get Creative Challenge #17 with Eureka Stamps

Good morning crafty peeps!  Today is another post for the Get Creative Challenge design team.  I've been having a real fun time participating in this design team challenge.  This month's theme was Father's Day or For the Boys.  I got real excited when I saw this image that I chose:

Yup, it's an elephant, yeah me!

I printed the image a couple of time and then I started by coloring the elephant with a gray crayon.  You don't have to be precise with this method.  Then I put some baby oil on a q-tip and went over the top of the crayon.  It smooths and blends the crayon nicely.

Cool, huh?

I have had this elephant paper in my stash for a long time and finally pulled it out to use for this card.  I ran it through my polka dot cuddlebug for some nice texture.

Then I fussy cut my elephant out and pop dotted him.

I also ran my black ink pad over the raised paper before applying the elephant.

I cut some gray paper in sort of a cloud shape and stamped It's Your Big Day from my 

Getting Cricky collection when I was on her design team.  

I then attached a string to the elephant's trunk leading to the "balloon" and some rhinestones.

I loved how this turned out and created another version using the same techniques but added 3 baby elephants to the card.  Only this time I added a hand printed caption.

Adding Non Crafting Products for Pendant making

Good Morning friends

Today I want to show you a simple way to embellish a pendant after creating it with the Amazing Mold Rubber and Amazing Casting Products.

I started out with this pendant I had received a while back.  I recreated it with my Amazing Mold Rubber and you can see HERE how you mix that up.  I also used my Amazing Casting Resin with the Flo Green Dye to create the pendant and HERE are the instructions for mixing that up.

I purchased these fingernail decals at my Dollar Tree for crafting.  I just loved the design and knew I could use them for some sort of crafting project.  2 full sheets for a dollar, oh yeah!  I created a template and cut out the decal and placed it inside the middle of the pendant.

I also wanted to add some bling to the pendant.  I pop dotted a few silver rhinestones to some vinyl backing and colored them with a black sharpie.  I glued them to the front of the pendant with some E6000.

I knew I needed a finding for the back of the pendant, but didn't have any on hand.  

I did however have these beauties and with some pliers ... 

I was able to straighten and flatten them.

Using some E6000 I glued the finding to the back of the pendant.

I also added some Amazing Clear Cast resin to the inside of the pendant keeping the

 nail decal in place and here you have an awesome pendant.

Steampunk addiction?

Good day friends...

As you all know I am one of the designers over at ABAC and love it.  One of the reasons I so love designing over there is our fearless leader, Susan, challenges me!  This month is Steampunktember and if you read my blog you will know I am NOT a Steampunker.  This month was the very first time I tried anything Steampunk and with that being said, I created some more things because I am so in love with this new genre for me!

My first piece was supposed to be a necklace, but it got too big so I decided I would turn it into a Christmas ornament.  Of course I used my Amazing Crafting Products, some beads, flock, inks, rub n buff and ribbon.

My second piece is definitely a necklace.  Again using the same products I mentioned above with a slight variation adding a rhinestone.

Fit for a Princess ABAC challenge #34 "5"

Good morning crafters,

I'm so excited to share today because I am the newest member over at Anything But a Card.  I applied to participate in this challenge blog because my main goal is to start scrapbooking more.  I'm SOOOO far behind as baby Steven is almost 8 months old and I don't have a single page for him and Alexis just turned 2 and I hardly have her album started.  I'm such a bad Oma!

With that said, I did NOT create a page for my first challenge post...still such a bad Oma!  This week's challenge is "5".  You could use the number 5, 5 things, 5 colors, whatever 5 represented your idea.  Sadly there just wasn't anything I could do for that challenge that pertained to either of them for a layout, instead it did pertain to my other granddaughter, Miss Bella.  Bella will be 5 years old this year and will have started kindergarden.  I'm assuming that she will probably have made a few friends and will probably want to invite a few to her birthday party.  Now her birthday isn't until December, but I say it's never too early to start planning.  Especially if I am going to be making her party decorations and such as I always do!  So with that said, let's get started...

I had a crown svg pattern in my overloaded SCUT file that I really need to organize.  I have no idea where this file came from, so if it's yours, please let me know and I will give you kudos.  This is why I also need to organize them.

I opened the file in SCAL and manipulated it bit.  I created two crowns and cut the first one at 5 by 2 in pink and the second one at shadow blackout round in purple paper.  The crown even has 5 points to it :)

although the crown was fine it lacked a little personality.  

Then I hot glued a bamboo skewer to the larger crown 

Because the skewer will be laid between the two layers I pop dotted it and layered the pink crown on top 

I also cut out the number 5 for her age and pop dotted it also 

and added some glitter glue for sparkle!  

Miss Bella loves glitter as much as I do.

Of course, no crown would be complete without some bling and

 that was accomplished by gluing on some flat backed rhinestones.  

Miss Bella loves coming and playing in my craft room because I have sparklies as she calls my bling!

Now sometimes there is a mistake and you cannot fix it.  

Can you see my mistake?  

When I layered the pink crown on top of the purple one, my skewer 

showed through the pink triangle hole.  Ugh...trial and error!  

So I cut out two triangles using my cricut 

(I do keep all my cut files named with the project that I created them for, 

that's about as organized as I get for my cut files) 

a bit larger than the holes and glued them on and added a bit of bling. 

 I also wrapped the bamboo skewer with some pinkish ribbon and 

hot glued it to the top and tied another piece onto it.  

Now she will have a beautiful hand held crown for her party.  My plan is to cut more of these (depending on how many little girls will be at the party) 

and let them decorate them with glitter and stickers before adding the skewer. 

 I think these will make a great party favor and something

 they can take home to remember Bella's birthday party.

Purple and Lime the new Black and Orange

Good day all. I am here again to share a quick and simple pendant. With Halloween fast approaching, I thought I would create a simple pendant using the Amazing Mold Putty, the Amazing Clear Cast Resin, Amazing Casting Resin and of course the brand new Alumilite dyes. I just love, love, love the colors. Purple and green go very well together!

I have an existing domino mold in Amazing Mold Putty from my Patriotic 4th of July pin I made {CLICK HERE to jump to this project}. My domino mold has come in handy for this festive jewelry project, too! The domino was made using the Amazing Clear Cast Resin with the Fluorescent {Flo} Green Dye.

I love the neon effect!

I also used a sharpie to add a bit of doodling to the domino, just because. The skull was cast from one of those Halloween rings and I molded it using the Alumilite Violet Dye. I added some rhinestones in for the skulls eyes. I just love how the colors pick up so well. I still think the purple is my favorite, but I love the neon green with the Amazing Clear Cast Resin. Say goodbye to the traditional orange and black... vibrant PURPLE and LIME are IN!

I had some of the purple resin left over and I never let anything go to waste, so I dripped "drops" onto wax paper and made some tiny circles. I added rhinestones to them for the "dots" of the domino and then I sealed the entire piece with some more of the clear cast resin and viola... a Halloween pendant is born!

Tennis Shoe Bank

Good day all...

I've been so busy creating and working both job that it is so hard to get here and blog about what I've actually done.  I've got about 12 projects I would like to share with you, but by the time I get done making the project between working a full-time and part-time job and home life I'm too tired to edit my pictures and write up my posts.  Blogging can be exhausting!!!  :)

I am here today to show you a quick project though.  My boss at my part-time job asked me if I could "bling" up a bank she bought for her daughter.  And here is what I did:

this is the bank shoe.  (Forgot to take a before picture) 

I didn't have any vinyl that matched the "tennis shoe", so I used alcohol inks 

on white vinyl and tried to get as close to the color of the "blue" I needed. 

Just put some of the inks together and keep blending until you get your desired affect. 

Keep blending.... 

This is the color I wanted to come close to and... 

here is the color I created.  I then cut her name out with my cricut.  As you can see 

I had to cut the "e" out a couple of times because it just wouldn't cut right and...

here it is. I also added some rhinestones to match 

the peace sign on the side of the shoe. 

My boss loved it...maybe I will get a raise.  LOL  Naaah, she's a great boss and she treats me very well.

So remember, if you don't have exactly what you need to make a project, 

think outside the box and make it work.
