FF Door Card

Good day all -

Welcome to Festive Fridays blog hop.  Today I am revisting a card I made last year for our Festive Friday card because it has been a very hectic week for me and this was one of my favorites.   Every other Friday we are showing different cards for the Christmas season and since it's an every other week affair there isn't a mad dash at the end of the year to get them done.  So if you just happened upon my blog or you are reading this in an email, please start here with Terri (our hostess with the mostess), but if you came from Angela you are in the right place, so sit back and relax and I hope you enjoy what you are abou to see.
Recipe:
White cardstock 4 1/4 by 5 1 /2, Light Brown cardstock (layer), Red cardstock (door),
Maroon cardstock (trim), Green cardstock (wreath),
Gold chalk for edging, Red glitter glue, Green glitter glue
Gold brad - cut off pokies, Red ribbon for bow

Cuddle bug with wood texture plate
Popdots and ATG gun

Door Open

I wish the woodgrain showed up.

Here is the video taking you step by step.

I hope you enjoyed my video and please leave a comment.  I thrive for feedback.
Here is the complete listing for the Festive Fridays bloghop.  I hope to see you again in two weeks and now head on over to Now head on over to Cynthia's blog and check out what she has in store for you.  Remember there is a link on the left side bar with all the stops for you also.  See you in two weeks

Festive Friday Angel

Good morning and welcome again to another year filled with Christmas cards every two weeks.  I know, you are probably thinking "we just got done with Christmas", but this is a way to get all those cards done throughout the year and not have to worry about a made dash in November.  I participated in this hop last year and got so many cards done and I even had some left over.  So come every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month and check out some new cards that we will be making...and lots of surprises too.  So if you just happened upon my blog or you are reading this in an email, please start here with Terri (our hostess with the mostess), but if you came from Angela you are in the right place, so sit back and relax and I hope you enjoy what you are about to see.

Today I made a super easy (I love easy) card, but it's so darn cute too.

I started by using my Amazing Mold Putty to recreate a button that I picked up over the holidays that came in a package of 6 different ones.  I love these cherub angels and I thought I could use it as an embellishment.  I created the mold first and within minutes that set up.  (If you want to see how this stuff works head on over to their site or you can check out a few other things our DT has made.)  Then I added the Creative Paperclay® and let that dry for a couple of hours.  Depending on the size of the item you are creating it can take from a couple of hours to 48 hours to dry.  Just be patient and check your mold periodically.

So here is the original button, the mold and the clay piece
I used my alumilite copper powder, and embossing ink pad
and my wings stamps from Viva Las Vegas
I stamped the images on some white card stock and used
a paint brush to spread the powder over the embossed image.
Then I fussy cut around them leaving a piece in the center
I painted the Creative Paperclay® piece with the Alumilite
powder also to match the wings.
I used mulberry papers and ribbon to create this cute card.
I stamped Merry Christmas with the embossing ink pad
directly on the white mulberry paper and also used the alumilite powder to enhance it.
I placed the embellishments on top of that to make it look as if it were in the clouds.
The picture doesn't do this card any justice, believe me!!!

I for sure love the fact that I can make any embellishment I desire.
Now head on over to Cynthia's blog and check out what she has in store for you.  Remember there is a link on the left side bar with all the stops for you also.  See you in two weeks.

Festive Friday Wreath

Good morning and welcome again to another year filled with Christmas cards.  I know, you are probably thinking "we just got done with Christmas", but this is a way to get all those cards done throughout the year and not have to worry about a made dash in November.  I participated in this hop last year and got so many cards done and I even had some left over.  The people who got my cards this past year were absolutely thrilled and it made the holiday season so perfect.

Today I am showcasing a card I made that doubles as a gift also.

I started by using my Amazing Mold Putty to recreate an ornament that I have.  It has a lot of delicate detail and I just love it, but it's also very heavy.  So I thought I could create a resin of it.  If you want to see how this stuff works head on over to their site or you can check out a few other things our DT has made.
and here is my mold (I've used it multiple times
with different methods).  I didn't want the "Happy Holidays"
embedded so after I molded the piece I added a bit of
the putty over the wording and it covered it up.  Genius I say!!!
I used the Amazing Casting Resin (liquid to solid in 5 minutes)
and painted it using green and red acrylic paints.  See how you can't
see where the wording was?
My goal is to whomever I give this ornament to, I
am going to stamp their name or the date onto
the ribbon area and they will have a keepsake
ornament from me.
I used removable glue dots to attach it to a card
front and voila....there you have it.  So I guess my first card of the
year long blog hop was more about the ornament than the card,
but I hope you enjoyed it anyway.
Now head on over to Cynthia's blog and check out what she has in store for you.  Remember there is a link on the left side bar with all the stops for you also.  See you in two weeks.

Festive Friday 11/11

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Festive Fridays. If you are new to us, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, relax and enjoy some wonderful Christmas Cards. Yes, I did say Christmas...Festive Fridays will be every other Friday with samples of Christmas cards. This way, you can be making your cards all year long and you will avoid the mad rush when you could be enjoying the Christmas Season. You should have just come from Amanda. If you stumbled upon this post you can go back to Terri and start at the beginning. There is also a complete list of the Festive Friday hop on the left sidebar under the Festive Fridays blinkie in case you get lost along the way.
I want to make a basket of gingerbread cookies for a special friend this year and I thought this card would work very well to send along.  I love to play on words and Merry Cookies (came in a christmas packet) worked for me.  I cut the little gingerbread girl out with my E-craft and used my White gel pen to faux stitch her and red glitter glue for her buttons and bow.  I love making panel cards because there is so much depth to them.

I hope you liked my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas card.  November will be our last month of doing this and I can't believe we are almost done, but I know I have a great variety of cards this year to give a way.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Wow, what a busy last 2 weeks I've had.  As most of you know I got a job, yeah, but it sure is breaking into my crafting time.  I think in total I've seen the inside of my craft room for maybe 4 hours in the last couple of weeks...it misses me.  Better yet, I miss it!!!  Since I do not have any regular hours at work meaning like an 8 to 5 it's hard for me to try to get on some kind of schedule.  I work any days of the week and times between 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. ugh.  Not fun I tell you, but at least I have a job again.  So with that being said I apologize for not being here so much, but I will continue my DT submissions and of course my " I want to do this" projects...LOL and here is my Christmas card for this week's Festive Friday.

Isn't she cute?  The cut is from Filekutz and you can find it here.  LisaJane's files are so easy to put together and since I also love bears (almost as much as elephants) I cannot wait to get the whole set for the holidays.  Since I am on the Design Team at filekutz I get to show you lots of things and using LisaJane's files is a treat in itself for me.  I've had a few ideas running through my head and hopefully I can have this idea transfer to a project for you soon.  I added a peachykeen face to the bear and then some bling to her shoes and her Christmas hat.  I cut out the package that was on the background paper and popdotted to her.  A simple tag to complete the card and you can have it done in a matter of minutes.
Now also, don't forget that Filekutz has a new bi-monthly program starting and you can find all the details here and while you are there, sign up for her newsletter so you will be sure not to miss a thing she has coming up:

I hope you liked my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas card.  November will be our last month of doing this and I can't believe we are almost done, but I know I have a great variety of cards this year to give a way.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

I finally broke out my cricut and created this simple card using the Winter Wonderland cart.  I love adding words and this cart has some great "winter" words.  Now I know it's all about Christmas cards, but sometimes you need a card for someone who doesn't necessarily celebrate Christmas and this worked perfectly.
It's very simple, but that's the look I was going for
I cut the words out of some heavier vellum paper
and the snowflakes are glitter paper.
I hope you liked my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas card.  We are down to a month and a half of Festive Fridays, so hurry up and get your cards made.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Today I've got a simple card for you.
The paper and ribbon was from my Christmas stash
The mint is cut out of some Christmas fabric and I added some glitter glue to sparkle it up a bit.  I also added some glitter glue randomly to the stick candy canes and pop dotted a few of the mint candies to give a little 3d affect.  This was super easy and took maybe 5 minutes to complete.  I love having these simple cards on hand for a "Oh I need a quick card for the maillady or the newspaper guy"

Again, I didn't use a cricut or E-craft at all this time.  Sometimes simple is best.

I hope you liked my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Festive Friday 9/9

Good Morning and welcome to another edition of Festive Fridays. If you are new to us, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, relax and enjoy some wonderful Christmas Cards. Now, my Christmas card isn't necessarily just for Christmas this week, but rather for winter.  I just love how this card turned out...I haven't made a long card in a long time but these two babies were just so adorable and I didn't want to lose any detail on them so here goes:
the card measures 7" x 4.25"
The SVG file is from LisaJane's Filekutz and since
I've become a DT member I can't get enough
of her files.  THEY are so easy to cut.
I added the ends of cotton swabs for the pompoms
and then highlighted around her dress with my new
found love for the Gelly Roll glitter pen.  Of course
I used Peachy Keen face stamps.
I cut all the pieces with my E-Craft and the tag also came
with my E-Craft software.  I inked around the outside with blue,
and distressed the inside a bit with pink and used a
stamp from MyPinkStamper WinterPunnies.  The snowflakes
were from my SCAL 3 Winter collection and cut with glitter paper.

Now I hope I've inspired you to make a Christmas (Winter) card because before you know it, you may need one ... it's getting chillier here everyday and I am not looking forward to that four letter word.  (hehehehe) I hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas (winter) card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Today I've got a simple card for you.
I started out by stamping the hollies all over the front
of the card and coloring them in a bit.
Then I stamped a larger version of the holly in the inside
bottom right hand corner.  I folded the outside corner
up and added a scrap piece of green triangle and an eyelet.
I added  a strip of ribbon and stamped
Pease, Joy, Love onto some scrap
cardstock, backed it with some green
scrap cardstock and there it is.

Again, this was super simple.  I didn't use a cricut or E-craft at all this time.  Sometimes simple is best.

I hope you liked my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Festive Fridays 8-11 and part of Day 4 pictures

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Festive Fridays. If you are new to us, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, relax and enjoy some wonderful Christmas Cards. Today I am showing a non-traditional color card.  I love experimenting with different mediums and ideas and this one just kinda fell together.  This wasn't how it was supposed to be, but I think it turned out pretty good.
This was super simple.  I used my E-Craft to cut the snowflakes with SCAL3.  Then I laid them onto white cardstock and used my ink to paper direct on top of them.  Some areas got darker than others, but I like how the white peaks through.  Then I took one of the snowflakes and popdotted it in the corner.  I also used a small snowflake stamp and stamped my background paper.  SUPER easy and kinda fun.

Now I know some of the girls are giving away blog candy, so please make sure you stop over and visit each one of them.

I hope you like my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another Christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Just a few vacation pictures and a video:
The morning tree...it's a bit breezy, but the wind is going
to be at our backs throughout the entire paddle back
to civilization.  It will be a beautiful trip home.
Just a few sprinkles and it created this beautiful rainbow.
We watched a craw fish eat our last sunny.  Can you
see him munching on the tail?  I bet I sat and watched
for at least a half an hour.  Unfortunately we didn't catch
anymore fish before heading out at 1 pm, so Mr. Crawfish
had lunch instead.
Here is a video of the entire camp.  I hope you enjoyed
Boundary Waters with me.  I know I had a great time.

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see our paddle out.  It was a beautiful trip.

This was super simple.  I used my E-Craft to cut the gingerbread man with SCAL3, added some puffy paint to his arms and legs.  I added 3 non-traditional buttons and his face is the Peachy keen Everyday Face assortment.  I love making shape cards, especially for the kids on my  Christmas list.
This week we also have some blog candy.  Robin's Nest has donated a Christmas card kit, so be sure to leave a comment on every blog as you hop through and one winner will be selected by Terri.

I hope you like my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

This was super simple.  I used the Christmas cart on my gypsy and cut the tree as a background at 5 inches in plain green cardstock.  Then I cut the layer in a glittery paper also at 5 inches.  I used scraps for the background and added a bit of lace.  The tree is pop dotted to the card base and embellished with flat back pearls.  The sentiment came from a Christmas paper pack and fit nicely.

I hope you like my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.

Today I made a gift within a card so to say.  You all know how much I love my cricut and I do love my SCAL program just a little bit more, hehehe.  The possibilities are just endless when you can create your own files, etc.  I had purchased a year subscription over at Scrapping Table and just love, love, love her files.  I used a simple "gift" cut 2 times for the base of my card to create a pocket.  I then cut just the "bow" out again in a different color and adhered it ontop of the front piece and added a ribbon around the bow.  I also added a sentiment "Season's greetings" and a cute little tag found in my christmas box stash and some green rhinestones.
Then I took that same gift and created 4 little gifts and welded them onto a rectangle shape.  I cut this out of cream cardstock (all scraps) and created a bookmark.  Then I cut these 4 little gifts again in various christmas paper, added a few ribbons, bows, bling and pearls and layered them onto the bookmark.
I plan on purchasing a book for one of my friends and thought this would be a cute way for her to keep her place when she is reading it.  Isn't that cute?
I hope you like my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.
