I thought I'd quick share an Anniversary card I made for my husband. Tomorrow is our 16th Wedding Anniversary. It's so great. He is my best friend and the love of my life. My DH loves to golf so I thought I'd have a little fun with the play on words. I am not very witty, but I thought this was cute. Anyway, I had been thinking of this card in my head and I promised myself I was going to enter in more challenges for 2011. More than Favors Wacky Wednesday had a challenge using these three colors. Red, Turquoise and White. That's it. Sounded easy to me...I am slowly getting into the challenges. Not quite jumping off a bridge yet, but maybe off the sidewalk. LOL
Well, here is my card and the recipe:
Red (Summer Dream Glitter DCWV)
Turquoise (All Dressed Up DCWV)
White Cardstock
I-Top
Cuddlebug
ATG
Cri-Kits (red glitter mini gel pen)
SCAL
I cut the white cardstock 5.25 by 10.5 and folded it in half and layered a piece of turquoise cardstock cut at 5 x 5 ontop as my base.
I cut a "golfer" out in my SCAL at 4 inches tall. I don't know where I got the cut file from, but if it's yours or you know whose it is, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.
I used my Cri-Kits red glitter to write out Happy Anniversary. Without unloading my paper from the cricut I then cut a frame out around the sentiment in white. I also used my SCAL for this and shadowed and increased by 1 point to make another layer in red.
I used my cuddlebug polka dots folder to emboss on white card stock. Then I used my I-Top and made a giant "golf ball". I got this idea from Courts Crafts at this posting. I think it was a pretty clever idea.
I then used my computer and wrote "You com"putt" me!" in red as my sentiment inside. I added a strip of the same turquoise cardstock for a little emphasis inside.
Here is my card.
Please let me know what you think in the comments section.
I live for comments.
This turned out kinda blurry, Sorry about that, but it reads you computt me. LOL
As always, have a great day and god bless.
This is so cute!
