Hello Friends!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and I am glad you came to join me and the other designers for worship! We are here to glorify God in song! :) We are here to start another series that will be on Wednesdays every two weeks to start and today it is the kick-off!! :) woohoo! Welcome! If you just came from Amy then you are in the right place, if you just happened up here or reading this in an email, please start here with Kari.
So I would love to introduce you to a wonderful local group "Go Fish", Jamie, Jason and Andy. They are a great signing group, but especially for kids, but believe me I just love these guys more than most of the kids. My DD has grown up with Go Fish and my granddaughter, Miss Bella is already dancing to their music. They perform every year at LifeLite (which is our local Christian music festival) and I so look forward to seeing them there. Unfortunately I was unable to attend LifeLite this year, but I am looking forward to seeing Go Fish in December for their Christmas Show, it's amazing. Please, if you get a chance, go visit their blog here.
Now they are a bit rocky (so if you aren't into that type of music, you might not enjoy it), but I think that's what gets the kids going. So here is a video of their style. This is the 10 Commandment Boogie:
This was one of Harli's favorite songs when she started listening to them, doesn't it just wanna make you get up and dance?
Now, I'm not sure this is what Kari had in mind when she asked me to participate in this Blog hop, but...well, onto my project. I chose to show you a layout I did (like a million years ago). At first I thought of redoing it, because it is a little cheesy. I thought about it for a while and decided to leave it as is. It's fun to look back and see how my scrapbooking style has changed. Or what I used back then (2004) versus what I use now...
I did use pattern paper back then??? Nowadays I would tell
myself that's too busy...I guess it was too busy back then also.
I remember when these circle tags first came out, I loved them.
I remember participating in a fiber swap at the time, and
I think I even still have some of this fiber in my stash.
Check out the matting? Isn't that just horrible?
I remember using shrinky dinks and I made this ladybug,
that was one of the band's signature back then.
Here is a picture I took at the concert, boy oh boy,
the matting is just horrible...
I tried to mimic the title to their poster (see picture above).
Not too bad, but now I'd probably jazz it up with stickles...LOL
I remember hand cutting these letters back then...ugh
Wow, hand written tags... I even still have this stamp set.
Stamped the tag and then cut around it by hand. Now I would be
using my ECraft to outline the tag and then cut it...hahahaha
So I hope you enjoyed going down memory lane with me and seeing one of my first layouts. I just have to giggle about how poorly it was done, but still enjoy the memory of making it.
I promise the next post for this hop will be a bit more modern...hahaha

ReplyDeleteAs a preschool Sunday School teacher, I just love this!!! I have always had age appropriate Christian music for my kids and now I share it with the little ones I teach.
It is great to take a trip back and see how our styles have changed! The thought that goes into each project is what counts. So glad to have shared this hop with you. :)
Be blessed today and always,
Sue B

I love this posting and love your blog - I am a new follower thanks to the hop! The song was incredible and my four year old came running over to see what I was listening to when it started playing...he stood next me to and watched and danced all the way through the video! I was tapped my foot right along with him! Thanks for such inspiration and taking the trip down memory lane - I would be scared to look at something I did a few years ago LOL

I can understand why kids love it. I am afraid I am more traditional. Your layout was different. We all have changed as time goes on and we learn more. Edwina Brown edwinabrown@comcast.net
