Daisy Barrettes anyone?

We received these fabulous Eastery colored cardstock in our packets.  I cannot get over how much I LOVE these papers.  I love all the glittery and sparkly that the Robin's Nest has in their paper.  Did you know all these papers are handglittered.  How do they do that?

The glitter papers are so nummy looking.

I cut the daisies out using my cricut.  Then I needed to manipulate the papers a bit.  Using an old mousepad I laid the "flowers" on it upside down and used a maker to manipulate the paper by making circular motions on it.  You will "knock" off a little bit of the glitter, but not much to make a difference.  These papers really hold their glitz.  Then flip your flower over and do that same on the other side.  Now I needed the flowers to be double sided, but since the back of this cardstock is white I "mod podged" two flowers together.

Since the papers are onesided, I cut them out twice and modpodged them together.

Now comes the fun part...I mod podged each flower to give it a sturdy base, but yet flexible.  Then after they were dried I glued the double sided flower to the plain flower.  I added some dew drops with a different color center and added 3d crystal lacquer.  I just love what this crystal lacquer does to the centers.  I did sprinkle just a tiny bit of matching glitter ontop for added glitz.

Then I added a barrette to the back of the papers and turned them into barrettes for the girls. 

Aren't they just lovely?  See, you can even use paper to create barrettes. 

Here are just a few pictures showing off the girls with their barrettes.  It's pretty hard to keep a 3 and 1 year old interested in having their pictures taken, but the whole experience was pretty fun.

Happy Easter

Good morning and I hope you are having a wonderful Easter Sunday.

I wanted to quickly show a project I made using a bit of a lot of different mediums.

I needed a new Easter (Spring) wreath and started with a plastic lid from an ice cream pail

and cut the inside of it out.

Then I added some green shimmered ribbon and wrapped the "wreath" 

Now comes the fun part...embellishing

I used some Delight Paperclay to create the eggs and bunny

I added some of Terri Sproul's Mixers directly to the clay and mixed it

Then I used a bunny cookie cutter and cut it out 

Delight is a very lightweight air dry clay.  I added a dew drop for his eye from the Robin's Nest and also tear drops for the "inside" ear part. 

The eggs are also made from the Delight paperclay.  I added Terri Sproul Mixers directly to the clay and mixed and pulled the clay and mixed a bit more.  DO NOT over mix as the colors will get muddy.

Also added a few dew drops again. 

The "spring" medallion is also made from the Delight clay and I added some sticker letters and covered it with 3D crystal lacquer.

The butterfly is made with two part casting resin.  I love using my Amazing Mold Putty.  

I used a hairclip that was a butterfly and made a mold of it

 The flower is made of paper using the Robin's Nest Sorbet line.  I love the glitter that's in this paper.

Tear Drop sale at the Robin's Nest

Good morning and welcome to a quick tutorial for the Robin's Nest.  

Now you all know that I am a designer for the Robin's Nest and in my last post I failed to add the sale that is going on over there.  I just want you to know that the products are fabulous and my favorite is the sale that is going on right now.  Can we say "TEAR DROPS".  All the tear drops are 20% off all month! With that said here is a quick project I made for my little Alexis.  Her room is all about butterflies and this is what I came up with for her.

Before I start, I just have to say that something happened to my card for my camera and I lost a few photos, so bear with me and use your imagination.  Sorry guys!!!  

I started by cutting a butterfly out with my cricut in vinyl.  Actually I used dollar tree contact paper.  Love this...because of the waste I didn't want to use my "good" vinyl.  I also used a small round mirror I got at Hobby Lobby.  Now this is where I don't have pictures to really show you, but you will get the gist.  I placed the round piece of contact paper over my mirror exposing the butterfly cutout and used my homemade alcohol inks and randomly stamped different colors onto it.  Purple, pink, blue, orange, etc. and let that dry.  Doesn't take very long at all.  Then I pealed the outside off and placed the butterfly contact paper over the alcohol inked image and used my etching cream and etched around the rest of the exposed mirror to give it a cloudy look.  See here....

Then I added some of the mini dew drops directly onto the butterfly with some quick dry glue

to give it dimension.   

I love dimension. 

I took a wood plaque that I got at Hobby Lobby and 

covered it with the  

Plum Classic Glitter paper that I had left over from my previous project using my Mod Podge and 

I attached the mirror to the wood plaque with some E6000 because I wanted to make sure it has a good solid grip.  I don't want that lovely piece falling off of it. 

Then I added the pink tear drops and diamond drops around the mirror with some quick dry glue.  I will add a hanger to the backside of the plaque and she can have a butterfly hanging over her bed.

Wooden Name Blocks for RN

Good morning all, and welcome to another post for the Robin's Nest Design Team.  I've been so actively altering anything I can get my hands on.  Hubby just said he's gonna have to hide the cat and dog cuz I'll probably alter them soon.  Seriously though, I love making something out of nothing and here is a cute project I made for my granddaughter.  She turned 3 on New Year's Eve and I wanted to make her something for her room.  Her room is primarily pinks and purples and when I got these papers from the Robin's Nest I knew I needed to use them for Miss Bella.  

I cut a bunch of squares using my cricut out of the 2 different papers.  I used Plum Classic Glitter and since the Pink Classic Glitter is double sided with the Distressed Lavender on the other side, I got 3 different styles.

I started with some wooden blocks that I had gotten at Hobby Lobby and painted them black around the edges (no need to paint the whole block) and then mod podged the squares onto the wooden blocks.

 

I did ink the papers a bit with black ink also to really give it that 3d look.

Then I added the Pink Glitter Stickers with BELLA 

Then of course for further embellishment, I had to add the tear shaped dew drops.  

I added one to each of the non lettered sides and five on the tops of the letters so you could stack them on top of each other like this:
