Happy Easter

Good morning and I hope you are having a wonderful Easter Sunday.

I wanted to quickly show a project I made using a bit of a lot of different mediums.

I needed a new Easter (Spring) wreath and started with a plastic lid from an ice cream pail
and cut the inside of it out.
Then I added some green shimmered ribbon and wrapped the "wreath"
Now comes the fun part...embellishing
I used some Delight Paperclay to create the eggs and bunny
I added some of Terri Sproul's Mixers directly to the clay and mixed it

Here you can see the color difference.
Then I used a bunny cookie cutter and cut it out

Delight is a very lightweight air dry clay.  I added a dew drop for his eye from the Robin's Nest and also tear drops for the "inside" ear part.
The eggs are also made from the Delight paperclay.  I added Terri Sproul Mixers directly to the clay and mixed and pulled the clay and mixed a bit more.  DO NOT over mix as the colors will get muddy.
and cut the "eggs" out
Here are some things I made with the Delight Clay

Also added a few dew drops again.
The "spring" medallion is also made from the Delight clay and I added some sticker letters and covered it with 3D crystal lacquer.
The butterfly is made with two part casting resin.  I love using my Amazing Mold Putty.
I used a hairclip that was a butterfly and made a mold of it
The flower is made of paper using the Robin's Nest Sorbet line.  I love the glitter that's in this paper.

So I hope you like my Spring Wreath and hope you have a great Easter Sunday and God Bless.

Butterfly kisses...

Good morning,

I'm so glad you came to see what I've created for Sakura Craft and Hobby today.  Remember you still have time to use the coupon code SHIMMER03 to get your 20% off of the Mixers till the end of the month.

Today I want to show you a few differences in color.  Now all the projects have used the same color, but you  will see how the colors differ depending on the background they are painted onto.

My first and most important project is the one I'm most proud of...LOL

I started with a mold of a frame and poured it with my casting resin.
Then I took some packaging (recycle) and cut
it to fit onto the back of the frame.
Then I started to paint...I used the red shimmer
to highlight the butterfly and flowers on top of a gold acrylic.

I used bottle caps to put the 3d crystal in and mix the shimmers into it so I can just throw the bottle cap away (recycle)
I painted the packaging with the green shimmer
and adhered it with some 3d crystal lacquer.

I also painted the butterfly with the red shimmer and dotted it with black acrylic paint
see how the packaging shimmers.  I also used the green to highlight some of the flowers on the frame...LOVE
I covered a piece of wood I got from Hobby Lobby with some bronze shimmer paper and used the 3d crystal lacquer to adhere the frame to it.
I stamped Butterfly wishes...with some stayzon in red and black overlapping it
Awesome...I love how this shimmers.  These mixers are wonderful.
Now, when I have leftover paint I either paint something I already have or I just paint it on some paper.  I painted the left over green shimmer on some black paper
used my leaf punch and punched a few leaves out
and highlighted them with a silver jelly roll pen.  I will be using these either on a card or maybe a scrapbook page.  Time will tell...I don't like waste.
I also took some black river rocks that I have in my stash and painted them with the green shimmer mixer.
Check out how awesome these shimmer
I added a bail to the back of the rock and I will turn this into a pendant.

Now you can also dye fabric.  With the kit of shimmers you will also get a bonding agent.  I added a bit of the shimmer, bonding agent and water and mixed them together.
Then I dipped some white ribbon and tulle into the mixture and here is the result.  The tulle didn't take too well, but it does still have a green tint to it.  The ribbon doesn't "shimmer" a lot, but does have a nice green tint to it also.
I also added the same combination into a spray bottle and sprayed some white flowers.
NOW these really shimmer
Using the left over mixture of shimmer, bonding agent and water I dipped clear acrylic beads into it and let sit for about half an hour and I got some tinted beads.  Not too dramatic, but just enough of a hue of color.  How awesome is all of this?

I cannot wait to show you what else I've done with all of these projects, so make sure you keep coming back and checking out all the tutorials.

As always, have a great day and God Bless.

Wine List

Good morning and welcome to another Creative Paperclay® post.

Before I share my project with you, I would like to remind you that there is a Design Team call going on here.  I believe you have until April 11th to sign up, but click on the link above and check out all the details.  This is my second term and I'm not sure I will be reapplying.  Not that I don't enjoy working with the products, but I may let some new talent step in.  It's going to be sad leaving the team as I have learned so much and enjoyed being a part of the team tremendously.  Creative Paperclay\® is definitely a fabulous product and I will for sure continue using now onto my project.

I had received a wine bottle holder for Christmas
yes, I am a Vikings fan and proud of it  :)
In this shoe there was this tag and I got the idea to use it as a pattern for a Wine List!
So I laid it ontop of my Creative Paperclay® after I rolled it out about an 1/8 of an inch.
I just used my craft knife and traced around the pattern of the bottle.
laid it out to dry...Hindsight, I wish I had NOT cut out the holes, but I really didn't know where this project was going when I started it.
Here are the holes I cut out.
Then I painted the bottle silver with some acrylic paints and used some old style letter rubons and added the word WINE LIST to the top of the bottle.
I added a mini clothespin so I could also use it as an actual list, but again, hindsight, I would have covered up the WINE LIST wording, so....
instead I used a transparency and used the template to cut the exact size out and now I have a dry erase wine list...

see, dry it
I really like the way it came together.  I added a magnet to the back and now it can hang on my refrigerator and when I finish a bottle I can just write what I am in need of...LOL  I hope you like my tutorial and hope to see you back soon.
As always, have a great day and God Bless.
