Face It on Simply Sunday

Good Day

Today is another Simply

Sunday over at Getting Cricky.  This
week’s challenge is all about faces.  So Face It, this is going be fun.  You can use anything you like to create your own faces, stamps, hand drawing, digis…whatever you have. I have two set of PeachyKeen stamps and I love them.  I own the Everyday Character assortment and the Dolly Dumplings assortment.  These are the cutest faces ever and I love the assortment pack because then I am not limited to just one size for anything I make.

So in honor of Father’s Day made my husband a card from me.  Not necessarily a traditional Father’s Day card, but just expressing how I feel.  Obviously if it weren’t for him, I would have such adorable children.

Here is what I made:

I used the Paperdoll Dress up cart and cut them at 3 inches.  I just dressed them in no particular fashion, so in other words I used some of my scraps. My husband usually always has his sleeves rolled up so I did that on the character also.  He doesn’t wear bow ties though???  My favorite color is purple so I dressed myself in purple.  LOL  But the main thing about this card is the stamp I used. I want to thank everyone that came to the U-stream on Friday night.  Kristal is so bubbly and upbeat and just an all around fabulous person.  I was having trouble with the U-Stream so I missed most of it, but I did catch the last 3rd I guess.  I know she was giving some prizes away and I hope you can join us for some Simply Sunday challenges.  If you won any stamps I am looking forward to see how you use them also.  Remember, the more you participate in challenges, blog hops, etc the better chance you have of becoming a guest designer or even getting on the design team for next go around.  So back to the stamp…I used the Positive Thoughts stamp set.  I really do love all of the sets, but I think this is my favorite.  It’s so uplifting, just like Kristal herself.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my

card and I hope to see you participate in the Simply Sunday challenge.  I will be back later tonight with the winner of the blog hop and also another round of cards.  I’ve had the craziest 2 weeks in the world and so hope things will slow down a bit. I am also having some minor surgery tomorrow, so I do not know when I will be back online.

Getting Cricky Blog Hop Fashionable Friends

Good Evening and welcome to the Monthly Getting Cricky With It Blog Hop.  You should have arrived from Kathy P, but incase you didn't go back to Getting Cricky and start there.  You know Kristal, she always has fun and great stuff in store for us.

Now, you did read correctly when I said our Monthly Getting Cricky With It Blog Hop: we will be doing this every month.  Isn't that exciting?  Just think of all the fun stuff you will get to see and "lift"  hahaha.  Who knows about challenges or blog candy or what might happen???  I am so excited to be a part of this team.  My fellow Sisters are so fabulous with their creations.  Each one is so unique and yet we all mesh very well.

I want to remind you also of the UStream going on in an hour here.  Kristal will be releasing her brand new stamp sets and there might even be more surprises...you never know with Kristal (or myself).  She always has something up her sleave at Getting Cricky.

Now for the monthly blog hop there will be a winner determined by Kristal.  The winner will be our next month's honory Guest Designer for the following hop.  So, make sure you participate in the Simply Sunday challenges, the monthly blog hop and when you purchase Kristal's stamp be sure to use them and you might be our Guest Designer.  Yeah!!!  Remember, every set of stamps you purchase Kristal is donating $1 per set to various charities.  So far I believe she said she has raised more than $122...that is so awesome.  Let's give those charities MORE!!!

So now onto my creation:  I made this card in honor of my DT-Sistas.  They are my Sole-Sistas and am so glad they are apart of this team.   So thank you ladies for being so active in this new adventure with Kristal at Getting Cricky and your continued support throughout.  You are truly fabulous.  I used the Fashionable Friends set because I made some awesome friends throughout all of this.  Also, $1 per set goes to Cancer Angels to help Stage 4 level Cancer patients. Cancer Angels gives at least 95% of all monies raised to the people in need and this Charity hits close to home for me.

Now I hope you will leave me a comment for 1 entry.
Post this on fb/twitter and leave me a comment for 2nd entry.
Post my giveaway on your blog sidebar and leave me a comment for 3rd entry
Become a new follower and/or email subscriber and leave me a comment for 4th entry.

Now I am sure you are asking, well what do I win?  You get YOUR choice of any of the new stamp sets, including the ones that will be released on U-Stream.  So what are you waiting for, get over to U-stream and hang out with us and keep hopping.  Your next stop is Kathy T. and she is sure to amaze you with something awesome.

Today is the day

Good morning all -

The countdown has begun for the Getting Cricky U-Stream.  The U-stream will start at 6pm PST 7pm MST, 8pm CST, and 9pm EST. See you there and then back here for our blog hop!  Actually the hop starts and hour earlier, but if you start hopping first, don't forget to tune into the U-Stream to see the newest stamp sets and also maybe some surprises.  You never know!!!

Now I needed to make an affirmation card.  A friend of mine is going through a tough time right now and she has been pretty down in the dumps...so of course I am going to go to the Positive Thoughts stamp set by KAndrew.  I tell you what, these stamps are most superior.  There are so many uses for these stamps sets.

I have never made a tri-shutter card before and although they are pretty easy, I had a tough time with it.  I wanted all purples since that is her favorite color, but none of my pattern paper really matched up, so I did the next best thing and washed some vellum.  All you do is that your vellum and an ink pad in your favorite color and a little bit of water (or in my case a wet babywipe).  I dipped the babywipe into my stamp pad and sort of brushed it across the vellum.  Do this VERY lightly, sometimes I dab a bit off onto a scrap piece of paper also.  If you get too much in some spots just use a new area of the clean wet babywipe and smear it across again.  Eventually it will fade out.  Now I also used my heat gun to "set" the ink.  Then I placed the vellum under some books for weight for awhile and it flattened it a bit.  The sides do tend to curl up a bit, but that either adds to your project or in some cases I just cut where the vellum didn't curl.  As you can see the first panel is curled, but the rest are pretty flat.  It all depends on the look you want to achieve.  I added some purple buttons and a bit of jute and then I also distressed some of the panels with a bit more smeared ink.  I really like the way it turned out.  The large inside panel is where I will write to her.  I also used three of the Postive Thoughts stamps.  I really want her to feel the positivity I am trying to send to her.

Now remember when you purchase this stamp set, Kristal is donating $1 from per set to benefits Storefront Shelter (Homeless shelter for children and youth).  What a fabulous cause.  This is not a one time deal...she will donate each and everytime you order a set

I hope you like my card and can't wait to see you at the U-Stream in about 20 hours or so, depending on when you are reading this.  Hehehehe

Now don't forget it begins at 6pm PST 7pm MST, 8pm CST, and 9pm EST.

Ol Bag

Good morning fellow crafters

Today is another day for a card.  This card is for Adams Acres again with a Getting Cricky twist.  Remember I told you I was designing for both of them?  My first project for Adams Acres was using the dinosaur file you can get here.  I wanted to make another card for a dear friend of mine and between this cut file and the new Getting Cricky Fabulous Friends set I created a perfect combination.

The dinosaurs were cut at 4 by 2.5 inches.  I adhorned the top dinosaur with differnt rhinestones where the polka dots were cut out of for some added pop.
I added a half peachykeen face to her also.  I don't own any half faces so I just masked one half way.
I also added a fabric leaf and a little flower for a little something extra.
This dinosaur was the cutest to make.  I inked around her body and a little bit around her face.
I cut the horns and nose from scrap photo paper for a bit of glimmery affect.
I used another peachykeen face to her also.

So what do you think?  Pretty cute huh?  I just love these stamps from Getting Cricky.  This stamp is actually all in one but I just masked off each part and stamped it in two.  Love the versatility.  I usually do not ever put stuff on the inside of a card because that's where I write and feel it doesn't need anything, but this time it sure did.  I left the background of the inside blank so that I can still write something to my friend.  I really think this turned out pretty cute.
You can purchase the Fabulous Friends stamp set here.  Also, remember, when you purchase this stamp set, Kristal is donating $1 per set to Cancer Angels to help Stage 4 level Cancer patients. Cancer Angels gives at least 95% of all monies raised to the people in need.

Don't forget there will be the U-Stream tomorrow night and blog hop for Getting Cricky's launch of her Stamp line and Design Team and there just might be some blog candy too...well of course there will be.  Be sure to come back and join in the fun.

Weaver of Your Dreams

Good morning

Today I am showcasing another of Kristal's stamps over at Getting Cricky.  As you know I am also in a Layout challenge over at Paper Secrets and am loving that I am actually doing more and more layouts. Each week we are given an assignment for a layout. I really don't care if I win the contest, it's just helping me to do more layouts that I should have done a long time ago (or some new ones in this case). If you participate and follow the guidelines you advance to the next week. We started with 27 and 20 again moved onto this week. I will keep updating you as I go along. Who knows, I might not be able to participate one week and then I am out, but until then, I am scrapping my butt off, (they used a different word, but my blog is family friendly...hehehe
This week's sketch is this:

Again, I did rotate it, but it worked perfectly for this picture.
These were the items we were suppose to use and the ones in red is what I used.

hand (faux) or machine stitiching
glitter/stickles/microbeads
3+flowers
rubons
3+ photo corners
punch
3+ tags
altered or raw chipboard
paint
vellum

I used my SCAL program to make the title too.  I love how I can shadow any font I wish.

Now as you know I am also a designer over at Getting Cricky as she came out with some fabulous stamps (if you didn't already know that, hehehe).  I even used a stamp on this layout.  That's what I love about these stamps, they are so versatile and user friendly.  I stamped the sentiment "You are the Weaver of your own Dreams" from the Postive Thoughts stamp set directly on the flower.  I arched the stamp a bit to fit perfectly into the flower.  AWESOME!!!

Now remember when you purchase this stamp set, Kristal is donating $1 from per set to benefits Storefront Shelter (Homeless shelter for children and youth).  What a fabulous cause.  This is not a one time deal...she will donate each and everytime you order a set.

I will be showcasing another stamp tomorrow, so be sure to come back and check it out and place your order today.  Today is the last day of preordering...don't forget.

Then don't forget there will be the U-Stream on Friday night and blog hop for Getting Cricky's launch of her Stamp line and Design Team and there just might be some blog candy too...

Dino and Getting Cricky Stamp Set

Good day all

***If you are looking for my Creative Paperclay post, please scroll down***

Today I wanted to show you a cute card I made using a cut file for another team I am designing for.  Charity over at Adams Acres put a design team call out a couple of weeks ago and I applied and got on.  I love using SCAL and she creates a lot of files for SCAL and also Make the Cut that are so darn cute.  She also is apart of  Die Cut Designers and I will be showing some of my creations off over there also.  The first set of files were dinosaurs and you can purchase them here.  I will be honest, I do not have any little boys around so dinosaurs were a bit of a challenge for me; BUT, I realized you don't have to be a boy to like dinos.  Hahaha.  I had gotten my Getting Cricky sample stamp sets last week and was looking at all the cute saying in the Fashionable Friends as a little light bulb went off and this is what I created:

So I decided that dinos don't have to have traditional colors.  I dressed "her" up in some polka dot paper from my stash and I "do" like her style.  The background paper was from my stash also so I have no idea where they came from.  I added a little bit of ribbon for the tag using the "I Like Your Style" sentiment from the Fabulous Friends set.  I bent the stamp a bit to make it more of an arc and stamped it without trying it first and it was perfect.  I love how versatile these stamps can be.  Now remember, when you purchase this stamp set, Kristal is donating $1 per set to Cancer Angels to help Stage 4 level Cancer patients. Cancer Angels gives at least 95% of all monies raised to the people in need.

I am so glad to be on both these teams and this just worked so well together.  I won't be doing this alot, it just happened this way at this time.  I also added a little smile to the dinosaurs mouth with pen and a googly eye.  I love googly eyes...hehehe...I just think they add something.

So now I will be adding another Getting Cricky post the rest of this week and also another Adams Acres post on Thursday.  I do so hope you will come and join me these two days for sure.

Then don't forget there will be the U-Stream on Friday night and blog hop for Getting Cricky's launch of her Stamp line and Design Team and there just might be some blog candy too...

PaperClay "Refrigerator Magnet"

Good morning all-

Today I would like to welcome you to another Creative Paperclay project.  I have been having such a great time making things and experimenting with all different types of projects using paper clay.  Today I am showing you how to make a refrigerator magnet.

I rolled out my paper clay

I cut a strip approximately 1 inche wide by about 12 inches long.  It really depends on how big you want your ribbon to be.
I then formed the ribbon.  I had to cut a bit out of the inside so that it didn't bunch up when forming
After the ribbon was formed I did add a bit of white glue to the strip to keep it in place.  I also textured the ribbon with an outside edge.
After it dried I basecoated it in a white glossy acrylic paint.  Then after that dried I painted the ribbon pink.  Do you see the texture a bit better here?
I attached a piece of magent to the back of the ribbon and now I can hang it on my refrigerator.
Isn't it just cool?  I might add the word "Hope" to the ribbon with vinyl.  Let me know what you think.
You can purchase Creative Paperclay here or you can even get it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

I hope I've inspired you to use your paperclay or to try your hand at it.  It's fun and addicting for sure.

Simply Sundays "Designer's Choice"

Good afternoon

**If you are looking for the Lasting Memories" post, please scroll down**
Okay, I am so excited about this project.  This week over at Getting Cricky for our Simply Sundays it's Designer's Choice and I was a bit worried about it until I got my sample stamps in the mail on Wednesday.  Of course I had to play right away because Kristal's stamp are awesome!!!  The only problem I had was deciding what I wanted to make.  Hehehe  Well I am currently out of town (well not as I am writing this), but when this posts I will be...hehehe.  I went home for my best friend's wedding and since I was gonna see my mom (it's been awhile) I made her this little gift.

This cut was from the For Her Delight svg file from Michelle at Scrapping Table.  Isn't it just adorable?  The cut is wonderful and so easy to put together.  I cut it as large as I could get it, so approximately 11.5 inches.  I added a little bit of pearls and a flower to the toe and then I used Kristal's stamp "Miss Shoe..." from the Fabulous Friends stamp set as a label inside the shoe.  I filled a baggie with some chocolates and viola, a simple but beautiful gift.  I just loved the idea of the sentiment, since I do really miss seeing my mom.  Now, seriously, wouldn't these make some awesome bridal shower gifts, or even making them for a girl's night out and using the sentiment "Sole Sister" or "Kick Up Your Heels"?  Yeah, wish I had a bridal shower to get ready for...or girls' weekend anyone?

Also ladies, just a reminder we are having a U-Stream at gettingcricky on Friday, June 17th at 9 p.m. Eastern time to show off Kristal's stamps and also a blog hop.  I will have some blog candy too, so please be sure to come and visit us.  I am sure it will be fun getting to know some of us and also to see what we all come up with.

Now create something, anything and come and link up at Getting Cricky!!!

Lasting Memories Challenge #41 "Background Paper using Punches"

Good morning crafters

I am a designer over at Lasting Memories and this week's challenge was to create your own background paper using punches.  Whew!!!  I created some, but it was only by trial and error...hahaha.  Nothing happened as planned, but here is a run down of what I did.

First I punched snowflakes out of scrap paper
and then used both the negative and positives.
I used the Martha Stewart around the page punch
to create this cool border.  I borrowed this from my
neighbor down the street and really didn't want
to give it back to her...hehehe
I also borrowed her anywhere on the page punch
I inked up my brayer and ran it over the
the cut outs
It gave it a really cool look.
Here is the entire paper and here is the layout.

These pictures where taken from my back porch a couple of winters ago.
I've been meaning to scrap them for a long time, and I am
so glad I got a chance to make my own paper.

I am so glad that I got onto this Design Team.  It's been so much fun and inspiring.  Somewhat challenging at times, but I would not have done some of these pages, so I am very pleased.  Now get out some punches and create your own background paper.

Festive Friday 6-10

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Festive Fridays. If you are new to us, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, relax and enjoy some wonderful Christmas Cards. Yes, I did say Christmas...Festive Fridays will be every other Friday with samples of Christmas cards. This way, you can be making your cards all year long and you will avoid the mad rush when you could be enjoying the Christmas Season. You should have just come from Debbie. If you stumbled upon this post you can go back to Terri and start at the beginning. There is also a complete list of the Festive Friday hop on the left sidebar under the Festive Fridays blinkie in case you get lost along the way.

As most of you know I also design for a company called Creative Paperclay...well I used something I made out of the paperclay.  I thought it would be fun to make some christmas tree ornaments.  All you need is some paperclay, cookie cutter and your imagination.  Hehehe.  After it dried, about 24 hours, I painted the tree and added some puffy white paint and then "blotted" it a bit to look kinda like snow.  I added a piece of gold embroidery floss for the hanger and there you have it.

I just made a basic card using some real cute christmas tree paper and a little bit of ribbon.  I used a simple stamp and attached a little sentiment tag.  Then I attached the christmas tree ornament to the front of the card with removable tape.  Now you have a simple gift with a card.

I hope you like my Festive Friday card and hope to see you back in two weeks for another christmas card.  Now head on over to Angela and check out what she has for you.
