Feminine Lipstick holder no more ...

Good evening crafters

I have a super quick, somewhat creepy post to share with you.  I am pretty much a girlie girl but ever once in a while I show my wild side.  Today's post is just that, my wild side.

I recently purchased an awesome ring with skull and wings and it was primarily to make a mold of it for a friend of mine.  He's so into skulls it's ridiculous.  I don't really get into them but for this project I am in love.

I started with the ring, making a mold using the Amazing Mold Putty and casted it with Amazing Casting Resin and black dye.
Once the mold has time to set up, about 10 minutes or so I demolded it and started to paint with a mixture of Pink Sapphire Pearl Terri Sproul Mixers and 3d Crystal Lacquer.  I also watered down a bit of black acrylic paint and dry brushed it over the pink when it was dry just to not be SOOO pink.  I also added some rhinestones in the eye sockets for some added bling.
I attached the finished resin piece to a pink lipstick compact I picked up at Michaels in the dollar bin with some E6000 and now I have a very feminine but Not lipstick compact.
Kinda creepy but yet feminine.  I love it.

Please let me know what you think as I love comments.

Until next time, have a great day and God Bless.

St. Patty/Pink Ladies Parade 2014

Top of the morning to you!

hahaha, I couldn't resist that since this post is all about St. Patty's Day.  Oh yeah, and of course Pink Ladies and Amazing Crafting Products.  Let me give you a little background of why this is so special to me.  I have been participating in a dart league designed especially as a fund raiser for Breast Cancer.  A bunch of ladies and MEN got together and formed a league where all our proceeds go to help out local people with expenses and such in fighting breast cancer.  We've raised a lot of money in the year that we've been doing this and again, all the money we raise stays local.  I love that!

Last year the league formed shortly before St. Patty's day and we participated in the St. Patty's Day Parade.  I was on the Sakura and Creative Paperclay design team at the time and I created "Pink Ribbon dart pins".  You can see the original post here.  They were a huge hit.  I sold over 25 of them and still have people asking me about them to this day.  I donated 75% of all the money to our benefit at the end of the dart season.  It felt really good to hand a check over knowing it was going to a great cause and staying LOCAL.  This year again I will be participating in the St. Patty's Day parade and wanted to make something different.  I did not go overboard and make a lot of these as they are kinda just meant for the one day, but you never know.  Some of the ladies might want one...
Here are a couple of pictures of us last year.

This is the banner of the bar that I threw out of last year and our motto "Stick it to Cancer".  The bar owner and I were a team.

This is Jane and I at her bar after one of the matches.

A picture of our float as we are getting ready to head out to the parade route.  We even had a dartboard on our float.  It was so much fun to participate in such a great event.

This year I am throwing out of a different bar and I am also throwing with my daughter.  This will be the first time we have been on the same team.  I'm pretty excited about that.

SO back to my original post.  Again, I decided to do something different and this is how it went.

I started out with one of the Creative Paperclay ribbons I had made and created a mold of it with my Amazing Mold Putty.
then I used the  Rose Pearl Terri Sproul Mixers with the Amazing Casting Resin and made sure I mixed them up very well.  Always put your color with your Part A and mix that up well before adding your Part B
then I poured my mold(s)
I always seem to make too much so therefore I keep molds on hand that I might need to pour :)
Once the mold cured  it came out like this

Love the color!
I also added a bail while the mold was curing and it seeped to the bottom, but no doubt I could fix this
Then I used my Martha Stewart alphabets to stamp onto my ribbon which works so very well with StazOn
I used a plastic clover charm (which I no doubt bought last year on clearance after St. Patty's day) to figure out my placement and stamped away.  Not perfect but I'm very happy with how it came out.
I glued the clovers to the center and added a rhinestone and a pink dart over the top where the bail showed through attached them to some beads and there you have it.  My homemade St. Patty's Pink Ladies beads for my daughter and myself.  I do believe I am ready for the 2nd Annual St. Patty's Day Pink Ladies parade!

What do you think?
I hope you've enjoyed my tutorial today and as always have a great day and God Bless!

Frame it - Scribbles Design Challenge

Good evening,

can you believe I am here again?  I have been so out of touch with all the blogs that I used to follow faithfully and decided to look to see what everyone is up to.  WOW!!!  So much has happened in the blog world.  I am loving all the "new" things I've found.  All the new "stamp" sets that are out there with according "dies".  How cool is that?  I know you are probably thinking "she is really is out of the loop, those have been out forever!"  The new Cricut Explore machine?  Wow, I've watched a couple of videos and it looks to intriguing.  Too bad I am not in the market for a new machine, I am happy with my Cricut Expression.   Seriously though, I haven't paid much attention to anything for about 6 months.  This week is the first time I've even pulled out my ATG and some paper in about that long and my Cricut has gotten a workout also.  I have to tell you, I really did miss making cards.

I have been searching "challenge" blogs in hopes to get my creative juices going again and have found a couple that I might start participating in.  It's not that I "need" help, but a little guidance is not a bad thing, right?  The reason I like challenges is that it makes me either 1. use things I haven't, 2. give me new ideas, 3. oh you know what I mean.  So, with that said I found this cute "digi stamp" site over at Scribbles Designs Challenge.  Now I have NEVER used digi stamps, but you aren't required to use them.  I don't even know how to use them.  The reason it struck me was the first card I saw by Cely.  The challenge this week is "Frame It" and it just caught my eye.  So here is what I came up with:

Now of course, I had to use one of my frames I made with my Amazing Crafting Products.  Yes, I am addicted to that stuff.  I make a lot of molds and then of course a lot of embellishments.  In fact, I have an entire shoe box of unfinished embellishments that just need some paint and can be used for a card, scrapbook page or anything your heart desires.  This frame was made from an actual tiny picture frame and painted with Terri Sproul Mixers.  The great thing about these embellishments is that 1. they are light weight, 2. you can paint them to match whatever it is you are making 3. oh, you get the picture.  I also added a tiny butterfly brad and a silver brad to the frame.  Cute, huh?

The baby stamp is a generic wood block stamp and the
Congratulations is a wood block stamp from Stampablities.
I have so many stamps and hardly ever use them.

The paper is from The Paper Studio - Pink Armadillo with Glitter.

I really like the way this card came together and I hope you have enjoyed it also.  I don't expect to ever win any of the challenges because some of the ladies that compete in these challenges are OVER THE TOP, but it's still fun to participate.  For me it's just about challenging myself!

DO you participate in challenge blogs?  If you do, which ones do you like the best and why?

As always, have a great day and God Bless!

Happy Easter

Good morning and I hope you are having a wonderful Easter Sunday.

I wanted to quickly show a project I made using a bit of a lot of different mediums.

I needed a new Easter (Spring) wreath and started with a plastic lid from an ice cream pail
and cut the inside of it out.
Then I added some green shimmered ribbon and wrapped the "wreath"
Now comes the fun part...embellishing
I used some Delight Paperclay to create the eggs and bunny
I added some of Terri Sproul's Mixers directly to the clay and mixed it

Here you can see the color difference.
Then I used a bunny cookie cutter and cut it out

Delight is a very lightweight air dry clay.  I added a dew drop for his eye from the Robin's Nest and also tear drops for the "inside" ear part.
The eggs are also made from the Delight paperclay.  I added Terri Sproul Mixers directly to the clay and mixed and pulled the clay and mixed a bit more.  DO NOT over mix as the colors will get muddy.
and cut the "eggs" out
Here are some things I made with the Delight Clay

Also added a few dew drops again.
The "spring" medallion is also made from the Delight clay and I added some sticker letters and covered it with 3D crystal lacquer.
The butterfly is made with two part casting resin.  I love using my Amazing Mold Putty.
I used a hairclip that was a butterfly and made a mold of it
The flower is made of paper using the Robin's Nest Sorbet line.  I love the glitter that's in this paper.

So I hope you like my Spring Wreath and hope you have a great Easter Sunday and God Bless.

Resin Bracelet and Sakura DT call

Good Morning and welcome to my blog.  There is a design team call over at Sakura Hobby Craft.  I just love their products.  My favorite is the 3d lacquer and of course Terri Sproul's mixers.  It's kinda ironic, but last year for Valentine's Day, my hubby bought the entire mixer set for me and today (one Valentine's day) I am going to show you how to create this with them.
You all know how much I love making jewelry and I wear alot of it to work.  Recently one of my customers asked if I could make her a custom bracelet piece.  I so love a challenge.  The only direction she gave me was that it had to have a PEACE sign.  Oye, I know I didn't have one, so I decided to create one.
So off to my trusty SCAL program and I cut a peace symbol out of scrap cardstock 5 times and glued them all together.
This was the perfect thickness for what I wanted.
Being on the Amazing Mold Putty design team has me addicted to that stuff.  I had to recently purchase some more (since I am no longer on the design team and don't get it for free :(  I knew Michaels carried it so off with my 50% coupon and purchased the last package.  My Michaels discontinued it.  Thank goodness that I can still order it online, because I cannot live without this stuff.
I added a bit of silver metallic powder to my mold and poured the amazing cast resin into it.  It cured in about 10 minutes.  I guess when I created the mold itself, I didn't let that cure long enough and the resin piece became somewhat bumpy.  BUT, unfortunate mistakes sometimes turn into better projects and soon you will see what I mean.
I then painted the symbol with a bunch of different colors of the Terri Sproul Mixers.  I used 4 or 5 different colors and combinations and even added some silver alcohol inks.  I kept mixing, adding, mixing, adding until I got exactly what I wanted.  I will tell you, if I make this bracelet again, it will for sure not be the same.  Similar but the colors won't be able to duplicate...lol.  This was so much fun to make.
See all the mixers and 3d lacquer on my fingers?  I love messy projects and this one is a favorite.  See what I mean about the bumpyness?  But it gave it some awesome character.
Below is a pictures of everything I used to create my bracelet focal peace symbol.

I was extremely happy with the way it turned out and my customer LOVED it.  Thanks again Karen!!!  Even if I do not make the design team, I will still be using these products for more jewelry tutorials.  Remember, the mixers can be used on almost any surface, paper, resin, clay, tile, glass., etc.  Go check the products out at Sakura, I know you will love them.

Zipper Pulls

Good morning

Today I wanted to share a quick post of something I made with my Amazing Mold Putty and Resin.  I love using this stuff.  As you might remember, I was on the DT for the Amazing Mold Putty and loved it.  While I was on the DT I was sent quite a bit of the Putty and I've been hoarding it a little.  I've actually made a lot of molds and now I am trying to preserve it as much as possible.  LOL  I'm so afraid of running out, but I will be using a 40% coupon from Michaels when I do run out.  I've already made sure my Michaels carries it, but  if you want some and your Michaels doesn't carry it, you can order it here.  So anyway...onto my project:

I had a ribbon pin
and created a mold

then I mixed up some resin and added
a bit of Terri Sproul's Mixers.
(I will touch on these a bit more later)
Then I made a mold of my rubber keychain that I have had laying around forever. Remember, I am a hoarder and have a really hard time throwing anything away...just ask my hubby.  This time I did
not add the Terri Sproul Mixers because I wanted the colors to be a bit different.  Instead I painted the
piece once it was cured.  If you paint it while it's still warm the color sets up a lot better.  I love these mixers.
Here they are...I glued the "ribbon" over the hole of the keychain and then added a jump ring.  I also used my stamp set to stamp the word "fight" on each "keychain" and attached a small jewel as the dot for the "i".  I then attached some chain and different beads to it to make them into zipper pulls.  I have one on my purse and get quite a few compliments on it.  I really like the way they turned out and...
since I go overboard and make more than I need to I am giving one of these away to one of you.
