Well, I've definately had an eventful last 6 days. As most of you know I was in a dart tournament this last week. It was the South Dakota State Tournament. The biggest tournament in the United States or so we were told. It was crazy busy. Wednesday I threw doubles with my friend Ray. We threw very well together and placed 4th in the D Division. (Since I made some money, I got a State Tournament shirt). Wow, it was a lot of work, but we had a blast. Thursday morning I threw singles in the K Division. Let's not talk about that one. LOL I really didn't even show up, well I did, but I didn't throw worth a darn. Friday morning then we had our Team event in the H Division and that wasn't any better than the day before. We didn't make it out of pods. Bummer. Neither one of us (4 person team) could get on the same page. Oh well, more practice for next year I guess. Saturday my DH's team started their pod play, (also a 4 person team event) and they played for 15 hours. They had to come back this morning for another round of bracket play and placed 9th thru 12th in their AA Division. There are only 2 weeks left of this season and then darts will be done until August. I'm not sure I will be playing summer darts; there are just too many things to do when the weather is nice. We will see.
Okay, enough about my social life and onto this week's challenge over at Lasting Memories. I've really enjoyed doing these challenges and challenging myself to use up my stash and scraps. I am kinda making a dent into some of my things and finding things I didn't even know I had. Is that a good or a bad thing? This week's challenge was a Sketch. I don't do very well on sketches, but I am pleased with my layout.
After my DD had my granddaughter I went and stayed with them for 3 weeks. Draven, my grandson, sure loved being the big brother, and I've titled my page "Brother's Love".
I don't know what paper I used because I have so much of it and I really don't keep track very well of where I purchased it or what company it comes from. I have a lot of miscellaneous paper too. The Brother's Love frame I cut out of SCAL and I am not sure where I got it from either, but I loved the heart bordering. I faux stitched with a white gel pen to make it pop off the page a little and then also popdotted it for some lift. I then ran the title block through my printer. I found this little white heart in my button's stash and used it instead of the "O".
The other red heart and the two other buttons, which matched the paper perfectly, were also from my stash. Funny how you can find things that just make it belong. I added some simple red/white/blue ribbon to the bottom with the journaling tag and there you have it.
I hope you've enjoyed my layout for this week's challenge and I look forward to any and all comments. Even if you want to give me some pointers on how I could have added or changed something I really look forward to hearing from you. Remember, no comment is a bad comment.
As always, have a good day and god bless.
